CMA 2004
The SACHS festivities for the 3rd Congrès Mondial Acadien and 400th anniversary of Acadia Program Events were held at the Belle Isle Hall in August 2004. The event was extremely successful, welcoming Savoie and other Acadian descendants from Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Our events included:
- "The Historical Acadian Artifact Exhibit," courtesy of Ghislain Savoie
- Madame Michèle Touret, president and founder of l'Association de La Maison de L'Acadie and L'Association de l'Acadie in France, who gave a conference on Acadian genealogical studies in France
- Dr. Marc Lavoie, archaelogist of the Belleisle digs, gave lectures on his 1983 and 2004 digs in Belleisle and guided tours of the excavation sites
- Harry J. Savoy, renowned Louisiana geneologist, who spoke about families of Louisiana

This is part of the group that attended the SACHS breakfast on August 13. Many had left before the photo session. The group is also missing the 10+ photographers taking pictures. In the foreground is violinist, Prof. Olivier Breault, who performed a very enjoyable concert of 18th century music on his 18th century violin. He is professor at the Montreal Conservatory of Music. |

| In spite of rain, some 65 people walked the trail to the excavation site of the Savoie houses with Dr. Marc Lavoie. About the same number of people had been on the same guided tour one week earlier. |
